Plans to create 65 additional car parking spaces at Mansfield Crematorium have been given the green light.
Submitted by Mansfield District Council, the blueprints were passed by members of the planning committee who agreed to ease problems being caused by the number of people attending services at the Derby Road site.
Councillor Martin Wright, who sits on the planning committee, said: “We have all been in this situation at the crematorium when you go there to pay your respects and there’s nowhere to park.
“I welcome this move and it will be a good investment for the town.”
Accessed through the regular entrance to the crematorium, off the A611. there will be 61 regular spaces, with an additional four disabled spaces.
