Car left the road near Somercotes


Firefighters were called to a crash this morning (Sunday, July 15) after a car left the road.

Crews from Alfreton and Ashfield attended the scene on the northbound carriageway of the A38 between the Watchorn Island and Somercotes turn off at around 1.40am.

The incident involved a car which had left the road. There were no persons trapped on fire service arrival.

Crews made the vehicle and scene safe.

Fire crews also assisted Derbyshire Police with the clean up of the carriageway.

One casualty involved was left in the care of an East Midalnds ambulance crew.
