Emergency services were called to the A617 Chesterfield Road near Pleasley roundabout around 6pm last night (October 6).
A man had become trapped in his BMW vehicle after it was involved in a collision with a roadside tree.
Police, firefighters and an ambulance attended the scene, causing the northbound carriageway to be closed off for several hours.
A spokesman for Derbyshire Constabulory said the driver was taken straight to King’s Mill Hospital but was not believed to have sustained any serious injuries.
