Cannabis-growing father and son avoid custody
A father and son caught growing cannabis in their Mansfield home have escaped custodial sentences.
James Garner, 65, and Wayne James Garner, 34, both of Sherwood Street, were found to have 21 plants in their loft, split over three separate areas.
Nottingham Crown Court was told how police had been at a house next door and had smelled cannabis.
Admitting producing the drug, James Garner was given an eight-month suspended sentence.
Wayne was given 12 months’ suspended, plus 140 hours of community service.
