The Nottinghamshire-wide campaign calls for men to come forward and say no to the offence by pledging their support.

Man Enough hopes to get 10,000 men signing up online in Nottinghamshire along with prominent sportsmen, local celebrities and industry leaders who have already done so.

Lisa Haydon, director of service at NIDAS, said ‘It is easy to think ‘it does not happen around here,’ but that is because it is very well hidden.

“There were 10,000 domestic abuse incidents reported in Nottinghamshire last year and almost 40 per cent of reports were in the Mansfield and Ashfield area.

“This is just the tip of the iceberg as we know it largely goes unreported and the estimated cost to services is a massive £79m per year.

“Ashfield has the highest population of 10-19 year-olds so we know that young people are also being affected.
