Small and medium Businesses in Mansfield and Ashfield can apply for a £5,000 grant to improve their security.

Invest Ashfield & Mansfield is urging firms to apply for The Business Crime Prevention Grant scheme can help specific businesses in the Ashfield and Mansfield Districts deter and prevent criminal activity.

Funding is available to help implement crime reduction measures, such as CCTV, alarms, roller shutters and/or security grilles.

The scheme is suitable for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) that have fewer than 250 employees.

It is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Ashfield and Mansfield District Councils.

The scheme is supported by the Nottinghamshire Police Pre Crime Unit and only measures recommended by the Unit’s Pre Crime Manager will be eligible for funding.

Depending on the nature of any proposed works it may be necessary to apply for planning permission and/or listed building consent.

Eligible businesses can apply for a grant of 50 per cent of the total costs (excluding VAT) of agreed security measures with a minimum grant of £1,000 and a maximum

grant of £5,000.

Grant support is limited to SMEs in the service/industrial sectors only and covers the following premises use classes: B1 Business – Offices, research and development, light industry, B2 General Industry, and B8 Storage or distribution.
