STAFF at Tibshelf North motorway service area have pledged to raise thousands of pounds to two charities.
The NSPCC and East Milands Air Ambulance are set to benefit from fundraising activities and bucket collections, organised by the Roadchef staff over the next 12 months.
Simon Turl, Roadchef chief executive, said the company was proud to announce the recipients of its fundraising efforts.
He said: “Over the years we have carried out various fundraising initiatives for a number of charities, but believe we can do far better.
“So we felt that consolidating our efforts would be of more benefit in the long run.
“The team at Tibshelf North have been heavily involved in the selection process since the beginning.
“From a local point of view, we gave everyone chance to vote for the organisation they most wanted us to donate to, and East Midlands Air Ambulance was the resounding choice.”
The drive is part of the company’s national Charity of the Year initiative.
Fundraising kicks off immediately, with both employees and customers rallying round to support their favourite causes.
Jenny Sedgwick, NSPCC fundraising manager, said: “We are hugely grateful to everyone at Roadchef’s Tibshelf North site for their show of support and enthusiasm.
“We are looking forward to working with them to raise as much money as possible for children across the UK who need support.”
