An application has been submitted to convert Blidworth’s old police station into a three-bedroom house.

The building on Dale Lane has been empty since October 2012 after it was used as police offices.

The application has been submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council by Newark-based firm Plumb Ltd, who want to demolish adjoining offices and a detached garage and build single-storey front extension, compete with two parking spaces.

The planning statement reads: “The building has been on the market with a view to attracting new occupiers of the office accommodation.

“This exercise attracted limited interest. It is therefore proposed to change the use of the building to a residential dwelling.”

Blidworth Parish Council has given their backing to the plans.
