A Nottinghamshire County Council manager is celebrating after making it through to the finals of a prestigious national accountancy award.

Moira Whelan was shortlisted in the Training Manager of the Year category in the annual PQ Magazine awards.

She was nominated for her work on the CIPFA co-operative accountancy scheme which is run in Nottinghamshire in conjunction with the County Council, several district councils, police and fire and rescue.

Although Moira was ultimately pipped at the post for the award, she said: “The scheme was the idea of our finance director and I developed and managed it so I’m very proud that our hard work has been recognised.”
