Chance to join the Chad team

The Mansfield and Ashfield Chad, one of the UK’s biggest-selling weekly newspapers, is looking for a talented and ambitious trainee reporter to join our Mansfield newsroom.

Far from waiting in line behind our experienced journalists, as a trainee you will have the chance to cover breaking news, big court cases, local politics and human interest stories in a busy patch where stories routinely get national coverage.

The successful candidate will be passionate about journalism, digital savvy, enthusiastic to learn new skills and experience new stories – and hold a full, clean driving licence.

They will have – or be well on the way toward – their NCTJ pre-entry certificate, including shorthand of 100 words per minute.

In return, you will receive the full support of the Johnston Press learning and development team, as well as the guidance of senior staff in the newsroom, as you progress.
