Staff and pupils at Wynndale Primary School are celebrating, after landing £3,000 in the Shop for Schools competition.

The event, run by the Four Seasons Shopping Centre, in association with Chad, gave pupils, parents and the community the chance to funds for their school. In order to gain points, shoppers had to collect receipts from stores at the Four Seasons Shopping Centre and exchange them for points vouchers.

Wynndale Primary School bagged first position with Farmilo Primary School and Nursery in second.

Jayne Gibbons, Head Teacher at Wynndale Primary School, said: ‘Everyone at the school is delighted to have won once again! We feel really privileged to have reached the top and would like to thank all of our pupils, parents and supporters who have helped us achieved this.

“We are looking to spend our winnings on numerous things such as setting up a tuck shop, building outside climbing walls, making the website more mobile friendly and humanities resources. The list is endless and we can’t thank everyone enough!’

Rebekah O’Neill, Four Seasons Shopping Centre Manager, added: ‘It was another hugely successful year for our Shop for Schools initiative and great that there are so many supportive children and parents that have got involved for their school to be in with the chance of winning.
