£2.5m new base helps firm grow

WORK has started on a Mansfield electrical firm’s ambitious plans for a £2.5m new headquarters.

Kent PHK says the facility will help it secure current jobs and create new ones when complete in October.

The electrical contractor will move to the new head office and 1,000sq m workshop from its current base in three units on Hermitage Way.

Said director Ian Kent: “Having set our roots here in Mansfield in the early 1990s we have a long standing relationship with the town and are pleased to have found a location for our new head office.

“We are proud to award the project to local companies and look forward to relocating in early 2012.”

Mansfield-based Herbert Baggaley Construction will carry out the build.

Mr Kent added the growth of the firm had created 10 new jobs, five of which will be recruited once the move is complete.

“We’ve been outgrowing our current place for the last two to three years and the new site gives us the opportunity to grow further,” he added.

The firm, which specialises in railway electrical contracts and engineering, services the whole of the UK and has a second office in Glasgow, having been founded in 1987.
