Bumper shoe box appeal

The Sutton in Ashfield Rotary Club has raised around 300 shoeboxes to donate to the Christmas appeal.

Last week the shoeboxes were donated from the Sutton club to be sent off to people living in Eastern Europe.

The shoeboxes contain everything from toys, toiletries, educational items to household goods to help people living in a world of poverty.

For many, the shoeboxes will be the first present they have ever received.

Phil Bustin, secretary of the club, said: “The club in Sutton in Ashfield has once again had a bumper collection of shoeboxes.

“We could not have achieved this outstanding amount without the help of the scouts, WI, and the individual members of the public who the club wishes to thank for their help and support.”
