Bulwell school’s sleep fundraiser

There was a big surprise in store for former teacher David Gee when he visited Bulwell’s Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Academy to pick up a cheque on behalf of the Canaan Trust of which he is a trustee.

Pupils and staff at the Bulwell school in Piccadilly took part in a sponsored sleep-over called The Big Snore.

Mr Gee was “elated” when pupils handed him a cheque for the sum of £1,203. He said: “This is a phenomenal amount which will go a long way to helping the homeless men in our care.” by Peter Jordan.

In reply Mrs.Abbott said “ The Big Snore was a fantastic event which was given amazing support and made a lasting impression on those taking part.

Money is still coming in for the cause and it is anticipated that the final total will exceed £1400.
