Alan Martin, of Teesbrook Drive, Wollaton, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court this week to answer eight charges between 24th July 1976 and 25th July 1978.

Four of the charges relate to indecent assault, while the other four relate to acts of gross indecency.

All are alleged to have been committed against the same girl, who was aged under 14 at the time. She cannot be named for legal reasons.

Martin wore a black leather jacket, dark jumper, light shirt and dark trousers when he appeared before Judge Andrew Hamilton on Monday.

He did not enter a plea to the charges, and was remanded on conditional bail until Monday 7th July.

The court heard that a five-day trial has been earmarked for the week beginning Monday 8th September.
