Training, support and travel expenses will be given for volunteers to become literacy volunteers at a local primary school.

Course spokeswoman Sue Marriott said: “We are asking people to give their time and commitment to show how reading can make a big difference to a child’s life. No experience is required.”

To take part in the course, you can contact Sue by phoning her on 01623 517553 or emailing her on [email protected] More information can be obtained on the website, www.literacyvolunteers.org.uk
