YOUNGSTERS at 1st South Normanton Brownies have had a helping hand from police to earn their latest badge.
The group, which meets at Zion Methodist Church on Market Street every Monday, was given crime-cracking tips from Pc Peter Wilbourne, of the South Normanton and Pinxton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, and PCSO Tracey Barks, of the Alfreton Town Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Said Pc Wilbourne: “It was a good opportunity for us to meet the youngsters and offer them advice on how to stay safe.
“I also hope that they will pass on the information they learned during the session to other family members and their friends.
“After the talk we judged their posters on crime prevention and the best ones received prizes. The posters were great, and they certainly showed that the girls had been listening to our advice.”
