BREAKING: Woman in hospital after Mansfield crash

Two people have been injured and a main road in Mansfield remains close after a road traffic incident this morning (Tuesday, November 22).

Police, Ambulance and Fire Bridge are in attendance at the scene after a collision between two cars.

Nottinghamshire police said: "We were called to a road traffic collision at 11.30am and officers re in attendance at Chesterfield Road South.

"Ambulance are also in attendance and are treating the drivers of both cars."

The road was closed at 11.50am and remains closed.

Mansfield Fire Station manager Matt Reavill tweeted at around noon from the scene: "Chesterfield Road South, carriageway heading into Mansfield from Rufford Arms currently closed due to RTC."

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue said: "At 11.48am crews from Ashfield and Mansfield and a station manager attended a RTC in Chesterfield Road South.

"Two cars were in collision. One woman was extricated from a car and East Midlands Ambulance Service has relayed her to hospital. Firefighters are still in attendance."
