Breaking news: man reported stabbed in Shirebrook

Police in Shirebrook are investigating after a man was stabbed in an alleged assault by three men in the early hours of this morning (Monday June 8).

The assault was reported shortly before 12.30 this morning and happened on the football pitch on the park off Vale Drive in Shirebrook.

The victim, a 37-year-old local man, was allegedly attacked by three men.

A police spokesmans said he sustained a puncture wound to his chest and is being treated in the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. His injuries are not thought to be serious.

A knife has been found on the park and police searches of the area are complete.
