A man has been arrested after a cyclist was killed in Mansfield last night following a collision with a car.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Mansfield yesterday evening (Thursday 21 August 2014) which led to the death of a 41-year-old cyclist.

It happened at around 9.50pm when a green Izuzu 4x4 was in a collision with a bike close to the Mines Rescue Service building on the A60 Leeming Lane South, close to its junction with the B6032 Mansfield Road.

The male cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. He remains in police custody for questioning.
