Tina Freeman was determined to help the cause of Macmillan Cancer Support, and plans to have her head shaved at a special event she has organised.

Tina, who has mobility issues, has organised a fundraising fun day at her home on August 28, where the deed will be done.

Tina said: “Many times I have seen the Race For Life and all the walks people do, but I suffer with a disability called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease which affects my walking and balance.

“It would be a no-no for me to do the walk and has left me frustrated and upset.

“Then on Facebook I came across the Brave The Shave page and I thought ‘wow, I may not be able to walk or run very well, but I can shave my hair’.

“I feel nervous about doing it, but it’s only hair and it will grow back. What about those poorly people who have had no choice? Doing this has really raised my spirits.”
