A witness watched Emma Bradbury’s Kia Sportage back into an Audi, and then forward into Vauxhall Astra, pushing it ten metres and causing “significant damage”, on Quines Hill Road, Forest Town, just before 7pm, on June 30.

Police found her in a pub car park, on Ravensdale Road, Mansfield, shortly afterwards, and a test revealed she had 100 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Ande Hunter, mitigating, said: “Mrs Bradbury has no recollection as to why she was behind the wheel. The last thing she remembers is drinking wine with her mother.

“It is completely out of character.”

He said she was the full-time carer for her disabled son, and the inevitable ban would have a “massive effect” on her and her family.

Bradbury, 31, of Marriott Lane, admitted drink driving and failing to stop after an accident, when she appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court, on Wednesday.

District judge Jonathan Taaffe said: “This is an incredibly serious matter - you’re fortunate that you haven’t killed yourself or other road users.

“You were behind the wheel of a lethal weapon while nearly three times over the legal limit. Accidents have occurred and you simply haven’t stopped.”

She was fined £1000 and ordered to pay £85 costs and an £80 government surcharge. She was banned for 30 months but was offered a drink drive rehabilitation course, which will reduce the ban by 25 per cent if completed before April 2020.
