Bolsover residents and businesses around the town centre were affected by an electricity power cut this morning, Friday, July 26.
Bolsover District Council confirmed it had become aware of the power cut when its contact centre in Bolsover town centre was affected and had to revert to its generator and residents tipped off the Derbyshire Times about a loss of power.
The council understands that some power has since been restored in the affected area.
Western Power, which oversees electricity supply in the region, launched an investigation into the temporary power failure.
A Western Power spokesman said: “There was a fault with an overhead line in the Shuttlewood Road area about 8.50am, today, Friday, July 26, and engineers are looking to repair any problems.
“We’re hoping to have all power restored for customers by 1pm, today.”
Western Power also apologised for any inconvenience caused by the power failure.
