Bolsover mum celebrates Olympic ticket joy

BOLSOVER mum Angela Sharpe was overjoyed to be told she is one of 500 people to win two tickets to next year’s London Olympic Games.

Winners will be able to watch one of the 26 Olympic and 20 Paralympic sports at London 2012 over 31 action-packed days.

Angela (41) said she had never won anything and it came as a complete surprise.

She added: “I was gob-smacked. I just clicked on it when I was doing some banking online and forgot about it.

“I do not know what I will get to see but would love to watch swimming or gymnastics as I was a gymnast and quite a good swimmer when I was younger.”

The mother-of-one, who is a full-time carer, said she would be taking her 18-year-old daughter Daryl with her: “She was as gob-smacked as me when she found out. She also won Bafta tickets last year so it’s been a lucky few months for us.”

Angela said she had often watched past Olympics and it would be exciting if she was able to watch Rebecca Adlington swim after having lived just down the road from her.

She added: “When it is in your own country and everybody wants to be there it is the chance of a life-time”
