Bolsover: Get active with a Sportivate grant

Sports clubs, community groups and organisations, youth clubs and schools across the Bolsover district are being encouraged to apply for funding to help develop additional sport and physical activity opportunities.

Sportivate is part of the Sport England ‘Places People Play’ initiative and is designed to increase the number of ‘semi-sporty’ young people aged 11-25 involved in regular sporting activity.

“This year alone, over £13,000 of Sportivate funding has helped enable activities such as cricket, equestrian, Futsal, golf and multi-sport to take place,” said Bolsover District Council’s cabinet member for social inclusion, councillor Ann Syrett.

To apply individuals and groups must complete and submit a short application form.

The council are urging all potential applicants to contact them as they can offer support and advice to individuals and groups with completing their applications, which must be submitted by 29th November.

Councillor Syrett added: “Sportivate gives local clubs and groups an ideal opportunity to access funding which can be used to finance paying coaches, hiring venues and purchasing equipment for the benefit of sport across the district.”
