Bolsover District Council has been targeting dog owners in its latest initiative to promote good dog ownership.
Events and information roadshows have been staged at known problem areas across the District offering dog owners advice and information from how to care for their animals to the problems dog mess can create.
As a result, over 10,000 poop scoop bags were given out to people to help them clear away their dogs mess responsibly and safely. Ninety-four dogs were also microchipped with chips provided free by the Dogs Trust.
