Bolsover dad went on offensive after row with former girlfriend

A BOLSOVER dad went on the offensive on Christmas Eve following a boozy row with his former partner.

Ashlee Allfree and the woman argued after he returned home from a drinking session, Chesterfield Magistrates were told.

They accused each other of being unfaithful and he overturned and damaged her kitchen table.

She called her mother, who went to the address with her (mother’s) partner, Garry Cooper. Allfree confronted Mr Cooper, grabbing his clothing and pushing him backwards into a wall.

Mr Cooper was unhurt and he restrained Allfree (21) until police arrived, said Bill Taylor, prosecuting.

Allfree, of Hilltop, Bolsover, admitted charges of assault and damage on 24th December.

Sentence was adjourned until 1st February for probation service reports and he was granted bail on condition he did not contact his former partner or go to her address.

“His drinking became excessive over this period. He used alcohol to relieve the stress he was under,” said Felicity Clarke, for Allfree.

She added that he had since got his drinking under control. The relationship was over and he was living with his parents, having been laid off from work.
