Bogus volunteers scamming cash

Residents are being warned about one or more people posing as crime prevention volunteers and asking for cash.

The bogus criminals ask for financial support for a crime prevention initiative.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said the person/persons are in no way connected to the police.

Residents are advised to not hand over any details and immediately contact the police.

The spokesperson said crime prevention team always wear official identification, and would not ask for any money for initiatives.
