The brigade said: "Firefighters from Stockhill tackled a van fire on Park Road, Bestwood, yesterday evening.

"Nobody was injured in the incident, however the van was left severely damaged. A nearby garage and another nearby car also suffered some minor damage in the fire.

Station Manager Richard Hodgeson, who attended the incident, added: "The van in this incident suffered considerable damage."

“Fortunately a quick intervention from the crews in attendance meant the fire was quickly brought under control and the fire was stopped from spreading. It also meant damage was limited to the neighbouring vehicle and garages.”

The fire had been dealt with by 0.20am on Wednesday 3 June.
