An application to build six new bungalows on a patch of land at Bilsthorpe has been turned down by council planners.
Rippon Homes Ltd proposed to build on the land off Eakring Road, opposite the entrance to Church Street.
But the mix of two and three bedroom homes fell foul of the of planning policy, according to councillors on Newark & Sherwood District Council.
Their reasons for rejecting the application was that it ‘failed to demonstrate that their would not be any adverse effects on ecology’.
They also described the layout as ‘poor’.
Finally, they said that the proposals ‘compromises highway safety’ because of its positioning close to an existing junction.
