Bid to Warsop headmaster’s 19th century poetry books to Bowler family

A Bolsover pensioner has uncovered two handwritten 19th century books of poetry from a Warsop headmaster and is trying to reunite them with the poet’s family.

Mrs Reeve 82, of Wellbeck Road, said: “My aunt died in 1986 and I have had the books ever since.

“They are exercise books with printed covers and the poems are written in the most beautiful quill pen writing. I had never heard of him before, but according to her he was my great-great-great uncle. He died in 1890.”

“I am the last of the line and I would like them to go to his surviving family. The books are a piece of living history and it would be sad for them to disappear.”
