Best ever GCSE results for Manor Academy

Students at The Manor Academy, Mansfield Woodhouse, have achieved the school's best ever GCSE grades, with 37% of students gaining the top grades 9-7, 90% receiving pass grades between 9-4, and over 60% of all students achieving a pass at Grade 4 or above in English and Mathematics.

Katrina Kerry, headteacher said, “We have seen fantastic results across the board and I am so proud of all our students for their achievements. The new GCSEs are very challenging – I really would like to congratulate all of our students on an excellent set of results.”

She added: “We place an emphasis on high quality education as the solid foundation for exam success, and I believe these results clearly demonstrate this. I would like to thank all the staff and parents who have supported our students throughout their exam time, and no doubt they are as pleased as I am with the results.”

Of the 145 Year 11 pupils who took GCSE exams, 77% achieved a Grade 4 or above in English, 22% achieved a Grade 7 or above in Mathematics and 42% achieved a Grade 7 or above in both Chemistry and Physics.

Milly Wortley achieved 5 grade 9’s, 2 grade 8’s and 2 grade 7’s.

Milly said, “I am delighted with my results and I am excited about continuing my studies in Manor Sixth Form.”

Another top achiever was Ben Gale who collected 4 grade 9’s and 4 grade 7’s.

Ben said, “It hasn’t really sunk in yet. I am really happy with my results and I am going to continue to study A Levels in Manor Sixth Form.”

Another huge success was the achievement of the SEND (Special Educational Needs) students who all met or exceeded their target grades.
