Baker’s £2,000 donation to homeless centre

High street bakery Greggs have donated £2,000 to help homeless people in Mansfield.

The national chain, which has three stores in the Mansfield area, donated the cash to the town’s Beacon Project, in Wood Street, which offers a range of services for homeless people.

Project spokesman John Coxhead (pictured, second right) said: “It’s not every day you are given £2,000 and this will help fund our Sunday meal project for homeless people in the colder months and help towards the ongoing cost that are incurred at the centre.”
