Award for Ashfield council’s environmental team

Ashfield District Council has scooped an award from Keep Britain Tidy in recognition of the improvements made to its environmental services.

The council has been given a Quality Improvement Award because of its efforts in making the department more efficient and improving service quality. There has also been a significant increase in customer satisfaction levels.

Coun Andrew Davidson, portfolio holder for the environment, said: “I am really pleased to see Ashfield District Council being praised for a bold and original way of achieving financial savings while at the same time increasing customer satisfaction levels. I personally congratulate everyone involved and those who deliver the service to Ashfield residents on a daily basis.”

Phil Barton, chief executive of Keep Britain Tidy, said: “Doing things in a different way can pay off for both the council and its residents and Ashfield’s success is proof of this.”
