Attempted robbery at Mansfield convenience store

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Mansfield yesterday evening (Tuesday).

A man went into Costcutters, in Ladybrook Place, threatened a shop assistant and demanded cash.

The suspect made off empty handed and left the scene in a nearby light-coloured car which was driven by another person.

No one was injured in the incident which happened at about 8.55pm.

The offender is described as white, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall, of slim build and had his face covered.

Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the vehicle.
