Ashfield: Warning for noisy neighbours
Mansfield Magistrates’ Court heard the council’s Environmental Protection Team fielded complaints of excessive noise coming from Leanne Cooper’s Priestic Road property in September last year.
Their officers investigated and installed noise monitors at a neighbouring property.

But in December officers re-visited the property and witnessed very loud music.
As a result, a warrant was obtained to enter the premises and seize the equipment that was the source of the noise.
In sentencing, the magistrates were able to use the new guidelines on environmental offences which came into force on 1st July.

“The hope is that this will in some way stay at the forefront of her mind should she consider causing further problems to neighbours in the future.”
“The court’s decision underpins the council’s commitment that causing a noise nuisance will not be tolerated.”
