Ashfield students to help shape Labour Party policy

SCHOOL students from across Ashfield have been invited to feed in to the Labour Party’s Policy review.

Pupils from Ashfield school, and Quarrydale school will arrive at the Nottingham Contemporary at 10.50am on Thursday to meet with Ashfield MP Gloria De Piero and Ivan Lewis, the shadow secretary of state for culture, media and sport as well as members of the Labour Party’s creative industry policy review group.

The students will be asked about how they think government policy could help young people who want to pursue careers in areas like journalism, marketing, music, internet design or acting.

Members of the Labour policy review team, which includes representatives from across the creative industries, will be keen to find out where and whether they would know where to go to access careers in these industries and what advice they get from careers advisers.
