An Annesley man and his nephew have been jailed following a flare-up at a house.
The female tenant returned to the council property to find Gareth Davis (30), and Lee Davis (26), inside, Nottingham Crown Court was told.
A row broke out after the two men said they had been let in by another man.
The two men denied burglary but admitted theft of a handbag containing a mobile phone and car stereo front at the house in Wollaton Road, Kirkby on 24th November last year.
Gareth Davis also admitted two charges of common assault, as well as assaulting two police officers with intent to resist arrest.
The officers suffered scratches and grazes when they fell into bushes following a tussle, the court heard.
Lee Davis admitted common assault of another man.
Gareth Davis, of Byron Road, Annesley, was jailed for a total of 18 months.
It included six months for a garage burglary the night before.
Lee Davis, of Clare Road, Sutton, was given 10 months.
