Ashfield Homes recognised for its housing support services

Ashfield Homes has been praised for the quality of the management of its supported housing services.

The company, which manages the district’s council properties, has retained its 9001 award for quality management from the British Standards Institute.

The accreditation recognises the work done by its First4Support programme, which provides both a call monitoring and home visiting service to older and vulnerable people living within and outside Ashfield district.

Director of Housing Kelly Scott said: “We are delighted to have retained the accreditation so successfully.

“Achievements like this are testimony to the dedication and professionalism of our employees and the quality of service delivered.”

The First4Support support centre is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide reassurance and emergency assistance to those people who need it the most.

Employees are trained to deal with emergency situations and can contact the emergency services or friends and family to provide help and assistance where required.

The home visiting service provides long term support and advice to people in their own homes.

Customers receive a monthly visit to undertake a health and well being check in accordance with their individual support plan but can contact their care co-ordinator by phone at other times. Most customers are also connected to the support centre via the lifeline system.
