ASHFIELD: Free events to help residents look after themselves better

Ashfield Voluntary Action is holding three free events for people to attend and learn how to look after themselves more effectively.

The events have been organised to coincide with National Self Care Week, and will enable residents to find out about health support groups, ‘Looking After Me’ sessions and offer information on managing conditions.

Steve Shaw, health and well-being manager at AVA, said: “It is an opportunity for people to look at how they look after themselves and what services are around that can support them to manage their conditions in a positive way.”

The events take place on Wednesday at Ashfield Health Village in Kirkby from 9.30am until 1pm, on Thursday at Willowbrook Medical Practice in Sutton from 9.30am until 12.30pm and at the Idlewells Shopping Centre on Friday from 10am until 2pm.
