Armed robbery at Sutton pawnbrokers

Two men threatened a Sutton shop worker with a hammer before stealing a quantity of jewellery and watches.

The robbery took place at H&T Pawnbrokers in The Idlewells Shopping Centre in Sutton-in-Ashfield yesterday, Wednesday, July 18 at around 3.30pm.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “Two men entered the store and threatened a shop worker with a hammer before stealing a quantity of jewellery and watches.

“Two community protection officers arrived at the scene a short time later. One was hit in the face with an asp baton and was taken to the King’s Mill Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“The suspect made off on a motorbike. One of them is believed to be white, about 6ft tall and of stocky build. The other is believed to be white and about 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10 ins tall.

“They were wearing black biker gear and black helmets.”
