£3,000 worth of counterfeit cigarettes seized in Sutton and Kirkby

A joint operation has resulted in the seizure of £3,000 worth of counterfeit cigarettes and tobacco in Sutton and Kirkby.

Five people have been arrested and bailed.

Ashfield District Safer Neighbourhoods Team and Trading Standards carried out the searches on October 5.

Five people were arrested and have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Gavin Berry of Nottinghamshire Police said: "We want to send the message out that this type of illegal activity will not be tolerated and Nottinghamshire Police is working closely with partnership agencies to tackle anyone involved in it."
