Appeal over church damage

Police are appealing for information after a number of windows were damaged at a church in Bolsover.

Several stained glass panels were broken sometime overnight between 8th and 9th January at St Mary and St Lawrence Church on High Street.

PCSO Ben Perry of the Bolsover Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team has been making enquiries in the local area.

He said: “The windows are protected by mesh, but someone has managed to use something to damage parts of the stained glass.

“The damage is pretty mindless and shows a lack of respect towards a community focal point. I would urge anyone who saw, or knows anything about the incident, to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact Derbyshire police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
