A group dedicated to forging links with Mansfields around the world has launched a recruitment drive for new members.

The Sisters Cities Association held an exhibition at the Four Seasons Centre on Saturday.

The group was started in 1989 and has close links with Mansfields around the world, for which there are 40 in the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Ireland and South Africa.

There is a formal twinning with Mansfield, Ohio, and a trip to Mansfield in Pennsylvania is planned for 2016, for which people are being invited to sign up for.

Member Steve Cree, who was at the Four Seasons on Saturday, said: “We had a very good day, there was a lot of interest from people who were not even aware we existed.

“It promotes a better understanding between Mansfields, and we’ve exchanged some wonderful idea over the years.

“It’s not a business club so anyone can come along and join us.”

Meeting several times a year, they have a Sunday lunch planned this weekend at 281 Restaurant on Nottingham Road.
