Hide AdIt was after the group successfully applied for a community grant of £250 to help towards creating a sensory garden that the staff decided to try and help further.
“The group moved to the Bulwell venue last September from Aspley where they had a lovely garden but this new site has a yard,” said Jo Bearder of The Nottingham. “They have started work trying to create a sensory garden and area to enjoy and we want to support them further.”
LIFE currently has over 65 service-users who learn independent living skills Monday to Friday and social events include a Friday night disco. This enables them to meet new people and enjoy learning in a safe, fun environment.
Jo added: “We are appealing to the community for donations of plants and gardening equipment that would help them achieve their goal.”
