APPEAL: Could you spare a few hours to help out at Brieley Forest Park
Brierley Forest Park in Huthwaite used to be Sutton Colliery.
It was skilfully transformed into a recreational area within the Greenwood Community Forest, starting in 1992. The park’s 100 hectares (250 acres) provides trails, nature conservation areas, sculptures, a pond and a thriving specially built visitors centre.
However, this is likely to close if more volunteers are not found to help with the catering facilities.
Could you spare a few hours a week in a delightful setting?
Just ring 01623 550172 for more information.
