Annesley Primary School faces partial closure while it tries to restore heating

Annesley Primary and Nursery School is closed to all but two classes this morning due to a power and heating outage.

The school, situated on Forest Road in Annesley Woodhouse, was only able to open to its year five and six classes this morning while it tries to fix the heating.

Members of staff and engineers were still trying to fix the heating and restore power at 10am this morning in a bid to reopen the rest of the school as soon as possible.

Paul Nolan, head teacher at the school, said: “We are trying to get a mobile generator in today so that we can reopen fully tomorrow.

“Today we have opened up two classrooms which have heaters to year five and six. We still have lighting but all heating is gone and I understand other areas are also affected by a loss of heating.”
