Annesley boy racer order extended

Police have been successful in extending a dispersal order which will stop dreaded car cruisers and boy racers from plaguing the Annesley area close to junction 27 of the M1.

The order, which had already been in place for six months, has now been extended until April 2014.

It will enable police officers and PCSO’s to order anyone causing harassment, alarm and distress to members of the public by the way they drive their vehicles to leave the area and not return for 24 hours.

Breach of the order could mean a fine of £2,500 or a maximum prison sentence of three months.

The order covers Junction 27, the A611 and A608 leading off the motorway.
