Amelia releases tear tinged Mother's day CD to help tragic tot mum

A Mansfield chorister is hoping her tear-tinged musical Mother's Day tribute to her gran will raise money for the gravestone of a baby girl and a cancer charity.

Amelia Elce has just finished recording her 14 track CD Shine, dedicated to those who no longer have their mothers with them and mothers who have lost a child.

Mum of two Amelia, 26 is a former soprano with Mansfield’s World famous Cantamus choir and records under the name Amelia Faith.

She said; “My mother has battled cancer twice with such courage and strength and I am so lucky I have her here today.

“I recently lost my grandmother to cancer, a lady who was such a huge part of my life, another kind of mother figure who I looked up to and adored. She was amazing and I miss her terribly.

“Last year a friend lost his very short battle to blood cancer so the work that Cancer Research do is incredibly important to me.

“In 2013 my friend Kellie Brown lost her beautiful baby girl Ellie through a tragic cot death at just four months old - another reason that Mother’s Day can be difficult.

“Nobody should ever have to go through the loss of a child.”

Amelia has chosen a mixture of classics and softer ballads ranging from Adelle to Oasis.
