Almost 300 dangerous dogs seized in Nottinghamshire over the last five years

Five thousand '˜dangerous dogs' have been seized by police in England and Wales, new figures show.

Four breeds, including Pitbull terriers and Argentine mastiffs, are banned under the 1991 Dangerous Dog Act but the RSPCA wants a change in the law so dogs are banned based on behaviour rather than breed. See more here.

In Nottinghamshire, 298 dangerous dogs have been seized since 2010.
